This will be the same failure that all the other kits have had. I'm pretty sure thats now 4 i have heard of within the S2000 community that have failed in the same way. I have the HKS kit but i dont think i would ever get a replacement blower unless HKS have made promises that the charger has been redesigned. At least Rotrex seemed to improve the problems. When you look at the BRZ forum you see even more failures... Not good from HKS

What BOV is on the car? Is it running the standard HKS one?

If it is indeed a design/build flaw then that is quite sad from HKS who is such a renowned high quality JDM tuning brand

Is it an HKS component, or the Rotrex blower they use that has failed?

HKS isn't a Rotrex blower, it is a HKS GTS7040 unit that was designed based on a Rotrex.

OP might want to read around here, there are details about what is wrong and it sounds like someone might make a part to fix the issue, and not break again. The good part is it sounds like the blower is basically just disengaged, rather than being grenaded.

Apparently the issue starts with a bad diverter / blowoff valve.

Not another one gone! Did you have the original blow off valve and experience flutter?
