How did yall get started
ok so i WILL have an s2k in roughly a month or so and im gona have about 3 grand to throw at it
i was initially thinking
I/H/TP/E and then start saving for suspension/wheels
but the whole boosting thing has me wonderin if im just gona waste my money
my question is how did you guys start out modding and would you do it any differently??
if i went FI i would probably just shop around in the market place for a while to find a good deal on a turbo/supercharger set up (wouldnt want anything more than say 350whp)
also it will be my DD, am i getting in to far over my head for a daily driver?? the car im lookin at now is an 01 with 55k
thanks!!! ive been on s2ki for a while but this is my first real post!!!

You know, I might suggest driving it for a while NA/unmodded so you can get a feel for what you'd like to change down the road. See what you like, see what you'd like more/less of, then search these boards like crazy to see what others have done to address the same issues.
yeah i have ridden in one before and either way im gona want to mod it lol
i kno it will need to be tuned that was not in the 3000 dollars i had mentioned earlier
can the stock clutch not hold up for a while? just wondering im sure im gona change my mind 80 times before i get the car

Get the nice wheels and a good suspension mod. Nice looking wheels are the best way to upgrade the looks of your car. NA and unmodified stock s2000 is an enjoy to drive.
I remember when started to mod my s2000, changed the exhaust a lot, 12 sets of wheels, went turbo, went back to NA, went back to turbo, now i got another turbo kit, and sometimes when i get to drive an unmolested S2000, it makes me wish sometimes Should've just gotten some nice wheels and lowered and leave it be.....
Then the boost hits in my s2000 and knocks me back in reality as to why i turbo and i can never look back

Honestly OP, the person that suggested to really ride the car NA first, is probably a great idea. You may say you've ridden in an FI s2000, but believe me. You reallllllly need to drive many different setups before you decide anything. I've driven sc'd ap1's, sc'd ap1's with 4.77 gears, ap1's with no fi but with 4.77 gears, ap1 with ap2 motor with 4.44 gears*which for a na was damn quick* and turbo s2000's ect ect.
After all of that, i realized turbo was for me. But when i went turbo i used to be scared at first to push the car thinking it was gonna blow then i wished i had NA. so i went back to NA lol. then realized i REALLY DO love FI and went back.
If i had the dough, i'd have an ap1 with 4.77 gears, single 70mm exhaust with 70mm tp, intake, some nice light wheels and have that as a track car.. and keep my turbo s2000 for my speed car.
these are my opinions and what I've personally done so take it for what its worth.
Header didnt do squat....the test pipe and exhaust *single* with a tune really makes a good difference...
