HP limit on greddy intercooler
How much are you guys paying for (or have paid) for your greddy kits? I thought it was a VERY cheap kit when I bought mine brand new. The way some of the statements are being said, it seems like these things are supposed to be like 6k.
Of course, even before I bought it I knew I'd want more coming from a Turbo Supra... I'm waiting on the ptuning kit. It looks yummy.

I think the best deal right now is $3600 for a new Greddy AP2 kit (BoostFTW is selling them). I negotiated to $4100 shipped for an AP1 kit from a shop in California, rather than cut the wires to use an AP2 kit on my AP1.
The thing is, the kit is complete but you wind up wanting other stuff too like a BOV, boost controller, gauges and a tune. Add all that up and suddenly it's not so cheap anymore, and you start thinking about whether the results were worth it. It's not a bad kit, but just doesn't deliver a lot of power for the money. I'm now looking at the Ptuning and Mase kits or possibly an upgraded SOS kit. Considering the 3076r upgrade too, but again not sure it's going to get me much for the money spent...

The ONLY way I would even consider a Greddy kit is if I got a great deal on one used, and I mean like, $2200-$2500 and it had everything and was in good shape.
Otherwise everyone is right, esp when new Vortech tuner kits are $3500 shipped. Slap on EMU and maybe some better injectors/fuel pump and can get close to 400whp with the right pulley.

I'm probably just under $3500 in my kit but I have a 3" downpipe, 3" HFC, 3" dual and AEM truboost/wideband. This is also including a GT3071r and a type s BOV. If I can end up making around 330-350 rwhp when all is said and done, I'd think it's pretty good money for a carb legal turbo kit.

wow $3600 is a great price why didn't you just buy that kit and get a ap1 harness for $240 instead or paying $500 more?
It shouldn't make any difference since the AP1 and AP2 kits are both covered under the same CARB E.O. number. But when dealing with the gov't, it's just hard to predict the outcome... I haven't had it smogged yet since the install, so I don't know yet.

Mostly just me being paranoid. I've never tried to get an aftermarket FI kit past Georgia emissions before, and wanted to be able to show them all the documentation stating that I'd bought a kit for my model year. Worth throwing away $500? Probably not.
