I just put 10-30 redline in the car two weeks ago to see if it was the oil.
I didnt notice the noise for a week or so but then it came back.

ok, is your head built? or stock?
have you inspected your retainers lately? lost motion springs? you may need to do some under valve cover investigating. look for FO'd up parts. let us know. dave

They're called Lost Motion Assemblies, or LMA. It's a small cylindrical metal damper that lives under each vtec rocker. If you think about how the vtec rocker works, out of vtec it just flops around and would make lots of noise. The LMA gives the rocker a little pressure to fight, and quiet things down. They're easy to test. All you do is push them in and make sure they return quickly and smoothly. The only thing would be access to them. You may be able to poke at them, but the last time I saw mine the cams where out of my Teg. Good Luck.

Crap, pull the cover off for the forth time in tow weeks. LOL What bugs me is it only does it when the motor is really hot from hard driving etc.. Maybe it will disappear with summer coming to an end and cooler temperatures on the horizon.
