I took the front Krankvent off but since it didn't function anyway.... it's not going to tell us much. I did make a few changes along the way including a new 2.0 liter bottom end lowering the compression to 9.2:1. I also changed the intake manifold to one I custom worked and a 70mm BDL throttle body. I'm still running the Toda header and Amuse exhaust. 463 rwhp and 268 ft lbs torque. It is producing 10 rwhp and 3 ft lbs torque more with 0.5 psi less boost than the previous engine last year.
It should go up 5% or more with break in. Twenty five more ponies would be nice.
I know it will see 500 rwhp this year. This engine only had 5 minutes on it when it went on the dyno.
The run starting out the lowest on the torque plot is the new engine. The other two are from last year with the higher compression. The one very close to it is from last year with the Amuse exhaust and Toda header. The top run was from last year with the very large exhaust and toda header. It does appear the exhaust system is holding me up.
On a better note, the hp is still going up at 9500 rpm and Church suggested raising the redline after it is broken in. Redline 99......I like the sound of that.
Thanks to Mike Laskey for assembling and blueprinting the bottom end, Joe Alaniz for cleaning up my head and making it flow so good, Tony Fuchs for his great wrenching and Shawn Church for his exceptional tuning abilities. And a special thanks to Matt Piercey.
9500 rpm WOW
After its broken in your gonna raise it to 10000 rpms huh?
How much do you think you'll gain after that?>
VERY nice setup as always Sideways
this is another reason why i pick VT over CT. thanks for the post. it helps me a lot on deciding which one i should install. i like you increased rev limiter.
Maybe i am not in the Loop.
Why did you change your bottom End? Did it fail?
Also did you sleeve the new SB?And which pistons did you use and are the oem Rods in play?
In the end The positive thing is that you are in the same place with lower compression...I tought i would have seen less power on the lower range now compared to the higher CR.
Cheers and since you are so anal about all the little things and want to get every little pony out of the F20 call John at hytech, make a custom Header for that 500whp and get a New Intake manifold.....
