Maybe i am not in the Loop.
Why did you change your bottom End? Did it fail?
Also did you sleeve the new SB?And which pistons did you use and are the oem Rods in play?

In the end The positive thing is that you are in the same place with lower compression...I tought i would have seen less power on the lower range now compared to the higher CR.
Cheers and since you are so anal about all the little things and want to get every little pony out of the F20 call John at hytech, make a custom Header for that 500whp and get a New Intake manifold.....
I had a ring let loose. The new short block was sleeved by Benson and is a cookie cutter bottom end from Laskey Racing. CP pistons, Pauter rods, and factory bearings.

With boost you get more than 100% filling. A low compression engine has more space in the cylinder than high compression due to the space created by removing the piston dome. Thus the lower compression engine with boost will make more power due to more fuel and air entering the cylinder. The additional fuel/air makes more power than the higher compression.

Locals have all given up on John. I have a new intake manifold.

I meant this.
How come you have more power down low when the SC isnt making much boost? When do you start to see boost.?
Lower CR is the thing for Turbo when you see full boost down low with the right Turbo and thats where the Lower CR comes to play and pays off.
I am not talking that you are not making power up top just i couldnt understand how you made the same power down low with lower CR on a SC.
whats the IM? I will be testing my CF manifold in a week or so,just i am wainting on the J&S safeguard to come..than after that i will test the MAxim header also since my last Test couldnt be done because the Car wouldnt make power over 8300rpm with the Maxim on.Just stopped at 8.300.

And about John and also John at Safeguard.

I am not there to talk to them in person but the only problem that i see is that they are only 1 person and we are so many and that there is only that much that 1 person can do and if all depends on them to do the things they do than you get what you get with Hytech and J&S. The answer is that you have to Order and wait for it,and not be bound by dates...in other terms that you kind of have to forget about it a little and when its made its made..also its not a thing that you cant live without.

in the end,did you diagnose why the ring failed? also how do you like your
Un-honda parts in your engine compared to the All honda stuff before?
how does the car react?
Cheers

People look at the bling and miss the good stuff. It weighs almost 4 pounds less.
Every piece I work over weighs less.

been there. Done that. Never again.

People see the bling, but don't realize this thing is putting out well north of 450rwhp. Gotta love the sleeper look

See, THATS the kind of shit I'm talking about. FUNCTIONAL AND GOOD LOOKING.

I am curious though, how do you lose 4 lbs on piece...you're just polishing them, do you really shave off that much metal? What about the thickness/integrity of the pieces you work?
