[QUOTE=John_Z,Aug 10 2007, 07:49 AM] People see the bling, but don't realize this thing is putting out well north of 450rwhp.

Congrats Sideways! You're definitely one of the pathfinders for those of us wanting to make more power with a supercharger!

Quite the contrary. Seeing the bling implies there is something more to it. It's hardly a sleeper look. Sleeper implies that when seen, it looks stock or deceptive to power. Polishing everything in the engine bay gives obvious hints to the untrained eye of things that are there that werent originally, hinting at more serious mods.

You want sleeper? It's John's silver AP1 riding on AP1 wheels and stock suspension pulling a 10.7 with the only thing to give it away is the fmic and single exhaust.

NOTE: Sideways, I am in NO way disrespecting your car, it is beautiful and if I had the time/money/tools for show AND go, I would def. go your route of making everything as pristine as you have. It really is a beautiful setup, I'm just saying it's not a sleeper setup.
Aside from his engine bay, Sideways car looks almost completely stock on the outside. Only Volk wheels and an amuse exhaust is a giveaway that there might be something lurking under the hood but you would never expect a 450+ hp monster. I would call that a sleeper look.

Once again very impressive!! Just wondering if you are keeping the 3.8 pully with the redline going up to 9900!

pricey wheels + pricey exhaust = giveaway.

Sorry. I know sleeper, I came from DSMs, we pratically invented sleepers, and that is not a sleeper.

See, THATS the kind of shit I'm talking about. FUNCTIONAL AND GOOD LOOKING.

I am curious though, how do you lose 4 lbs on piece...you're just polishing them, do you really shave off that much metal? What about the thickness/integrity of the pieces you work?
It is not just polishing. It includes drilling and grinding.
You remove the pounds by removing unnecessary metal. Notice where the block off plate is located at the top of the picture. Notice to the left of the plate you can see through.
Factory manifolds are two inches of aluminum at that point. I removed where you can see through.

BOTTOM VIEW
Several runners and bosses have been removed. Unnecessary material has been ground away over the entire manifold.

BOTTOM VIEW One support and boss removed on runner one, two supports on runner two were removed.

And what is this Rutherford BS doing in my post. He is basically stock. At least it runs that way.

463 rwhp and 268 ft lbs torque. It is producing 10 rwhp and 3 ft lbs torque more with 0.5 psi less boost than the previous engine last year.
