Default Ideling problem got worse after turbo

i recently got a s2000 with greddy turbo kit bolt on. Now my ideling is crazy going from 1k-1.5k up and down. my car was doing this before when it was stock and i try the map sensor with zip ties and map whack but it didn't do anything. So i just ignored because it was only doing it once in a while. Now its just going crazy all the time. i was wondering if i should buy new map sensor or could it be something else and also on the greddy turbo kit where your suppose to have reolcation for the map sensor the fellow seller on s2ki who sold it to me didn't tell me he was missing it

The map sensor relocation is intended to avoid confusing the sensor with erratic boost readings. It shouldn't affect your idle. I relocated mine originally and then put it back in the stock location and it seemed to work better.

If your car is idling crazy (and was doing it before you went FI), a competent Honda mechanic should easily be able to diagnose and fix it.

You should also take your car to a tuner and have it tuned. This will prevent damage to your engine from being turbo'd. I ran the Greddy kit un-tuned (on their base map) for about 8 months and now the tops of my pistons are pitted. Not good; luckily I dodged an expensive bullet.

I had similar problem when I first start my turbo engine,
That's helping me to fix my problem... but I had to clean 3times before that idle problem stopped.

You should try : https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/856..._fromsearch__1

Good luck

This summer my car started stalling repeatedly. Up to 6 times per day. That gets annoying fast.

I tried cleaning my IACV just like in that thread. Didn't help. Then I bypassed it (changed the route of the coolant lines). Didn't help. Cleaned the MAP and zip tied it. Didn't help.

So, I took it to my tuner and asked him to fix the idle as part of my latest tune. That solved 95% of the problem. Now it just stalls occasionally (once every few weeks) as I'm easing into my garage at night. I can live with that.

Sorry, I never dyno'd the Greddy. I knew it wouldn't make enough power (even with a tune) to satisfy me and decided to switch to a different setup.

did you know what the tuner did to fix it? What setup are you doing now?

Look for a manifold leak.

Mine does the same thing every once and a while. So I'm upgrading injectors and getting Kpro to see if it helps. Seems to only shut off after I drive the car for 2+ hours and it gets hot. Haven't had it happen to me again since the weather started cooling down; and since I put Water Wetter in it.
