So, I took it to my tuner and asked him to fix the idle as part of my latest tune. That solved 95% of the problem. Now it just stalls occasionally (once every few weeks) as I'm easing into my garage at night. I can live with that.
did you know what the tuner did to fix it? What setup are you doing now?
I don't know what he did. I don't actually know if he did anything at all. I'm afraid to ask, because the answer might be "nothing" and that would just deepen the mystery. I'm just happy it's much better now.

I'm now running the SOS stage 2 tuner kit (see my sig). The car is MUCH faster than it was with the Greddy kit, though it doesn't have that turbo-spooling rush at low rpm.

My car had idle issues of stalling out before I SC'd my car. But after installing and tuning the AEM EMS v2, the car no longer has this issue. With my netbook plugged in to monitor the engine, I noticed that my tuner has the throttle at 1-1.5% at idle. Guess that helped? Not sure but it doesn't stall anymore. It IS running rich though, 13.4-14.1 AFR at idle.

Edit. Stupid iPhone.

What? Are u dbw? Why is your tps not at 0 at idle. Spuds like the tuner didn't calibrate ur tps sensor to me. Or your dbw and he used that to add air and control idle. I don't think dbw has a iacv. But not positive.

I have an 02. In regards to the TPS not being calibrated, I thought that too but I guess I wanted to give TopSpeed the benefit of the doubt. It may not be though. If I rescaled the TPS, would it mess up the tune?

Perfect. Then you can sell the FB TB and use the money for a 3.2" pulley from SOS.

I recently installed the greddy kit and had a similar idling issue and it turned out to be bent valves. Have you done a compression test?
