I'm serious about getting nitrous

i ran a 50 shot years ago on my crx (original d-series 1.6L motor). i pieced the kit together myself and had absolutely no issues, other than my stock clutch not holding it. i replaced the clutch and was able to drop a full second and a half (best was 14.8) on a quartermile.
i made a wet setup to ensure enough fuel was there and other than that all i did was retard my timing and run high octane gas. it was a very simple setup with none of the fancy control systems you see around now... (they didn't have them back then). i had a limit switch on the tb so it only fired on wot, and would cut during shifts as soon as my foot lifted off the gas slightly. i obviously had an arming switch right next to the shifter so i could shut the system down any time. i would run it out of the hole in first gear, and just wouldn't put my foot right to the floor until i started to hook up with traction, then just put my foot that last little bit to the floor and on it came and away the traction went again.
it was a lot of fun and was glad it was my first experience with a power adder. would i do it again, no. it became a pain in the ass to always have to turn the bottle on when i wanted to use it. it was also frustrating when the pressure started to drop and my times with it. i had a bottle warmer, but it didn't seem to help much. i've had a couple different turbo setups since then, and that is by far more fun and always available when you want it without having to open a bottle, or refill it.
