You guys are paying too much for race gas. These are my local prices (55 gallon barrel):

105 oct (RPG) $315/barrel $7/Ga
101.5 oct (technoblend) $320/Barrel $7.05/Ga
110 oct (TWS) $275/barrel $6/Ga
114 oct (T112) $280/Barrel $6.05/Ga

These are all leaded of course, the best unleaded I can find is 100 octane and it costs just as much, I run the T112 myself, 114 octane leaded (in my gti, not in my s2000 YET). If you have somewhere to put a barrel, it is MUCH cheaper. You have to use it within 3 months. I literally ran this for entire summer and never replaced my O2 sensors, not even the wideband.
Oh and yes, thats $10 a gallon for 5 gallon cans. If I buy a 55 gallon drum the price is far less for C16 -- 116 octane.

We bought 10 gallons just to tune.

Is a Corvette Z06 nearly uncontrollable? Can it easily over come its tires?

Any car with great amounts of power has to be driven by someone with enough common sense and ability to control it.

This car is no different.
Thanks for the insight- I didn't realize there were other RWD cars that make big power. How many Z06's come with 550whp? And stock 225 wide 16" tires?

So what tires are you using, and can you mash the throttle in anything less than 4th gear without excessive wheelspin (on pump gas)? I am asking so I can plan my turbo upgrade path- I personally don't want or need 550whp if I can't apply it without slicks.

Either way, congrats on putting down big numbers.

If you look at my sig, I'm AP2, not AP1 so no, I don't have 225 16" wheels.

My tuner configured gear boost so I have all the traction I need, thanks.

Steve, I'm interested in how you're boost is set up through each gear. I plan on letting the EMS to control boost like that so traction is more controllable.

If I remember right, Devin set 1st at around 10 psi, 2nd 12 psi, 3rd 14 psi, and 4th-6th 16 psi.

Steve will comment on this if I'm wrong.

He did it with the EMS by using VSS and sampling engine speed in each gear.

I make 10 psi in first gear blending to 12.5 psi in second gear and by the top of third I'm making 16 psi.

We did about five 1st gear through 4th gear pulls and it works really well.

No tire spin or traction issues at all.

And for the record, I'm running Volk CE28N's -- 9" in the rear and 7.5" up front.

Tires are BFGoodrich g-Force T/A KD 255/40/17 in the rear and 225/45/17 in the front.

I may go to 275 in the rear after I fry this set.

Shouldn't take too long.
