Default Inlinepro Turbo and California smog test

Anyone in California equipped with Inline Pro Turbo? Hassle from cops?

I had MKIV turbo Supra before, it was a freaking pain in the ass with cops. Fix it tickets by-weekly, I was always driving in fear.

I really need boost for the S2K. Unfortunately there are no positive displacement blower for S2K. The centrifugal type blower seems to be the only ones available for S2K.

I prefer turbo over centrifugal blower. I would love to do the 2~3mm headgasket + Inlinepro turbo, but I don't want to drive with fear of getting pulled over and pop the hood. I enjoy driving with nothing to hide.

its got a vent to atmosphere wastegate for one thing... which is pretty un carb friendly... It also hasn't been given a carb number, so you wouldn't be able to pass visual...

Maybe if you somehow made it look stock?? which would be pretty hard you might be able to get past a cop visual

Simple quick answer, your screwed

You'll have the same problem with the S just as you did with the supra. Gotta move out of that state!

screwed about sums it up...

I'm rethinking my turbo plans now. You can wait for the Greddy, but Carb numbers are not for certain yet. Smog isn't hard if you have $$$, but the police visual will get you especially since they are now trained to look for turbos and such...

I don't know if the paranoia is worth it, kinda takes away for the enjoyment of owning an S

CA + turbo= nonpassing smog test. Sorry, can't see a happy ending for you unless you leave the state.

Custom heat shield that will look stock and cover turbo. Gut your air box and cut holes for inlet pipe and to cover bov. Be good buddies with a crooked smog guy in East la

Hmmm...not a bad idea.

The intercooler might give it away though. Even if you paint it black, it doesent really look like a radiator.
