inlinePRO turbo manifold welding cracked!
Hi everybody!
A few months back i purchased a Stage 2 Turbo Kit from Inline Pro (The race kit). installed it at a qualified mechanic/tuner who has built the fastest Hondas in the middle-east, Bader Dashtti (B-Tune). After installation the car was running very hot, making a selection of various instrumental orchestral noises, and was loosing boost (Tuned to 16psi and boosting 10psi). I took it to B-Tune to have him look over everything to find out what is going on and when he called me a few days later i visited him. He popped the hood, took out a lighter and put it next to the exhaust manifold and the flame was dancing like crazy! The "race-kit" exhaust manifold had a crack in the welding joint after only a few days of regular use and a dozen or so boosted runs.
Now regularly i would kindly send InlinePro an email requesting a replacement or refund... anything but cracked useless headers. But i have had a recent experience with them regarding an exclusive clutch they sold me with the turbo kit (they recommended the twin plate clutch and claimed "it handles 900hp), the expensive($1750) clutch had burnt out before the turbo kit was even installed onto the engine. In other words, the stock engine burnt the clutch?! Really? After that experience i emailed them and returned the broken clutch to them, they complained that the fault was the mechanics error. Contrary to what they say, B-Tune is highly qualified and has installed dozens of clutches on cars that are just as powerful without a fault, and prior to the clutch's failure the car was running very smoothly and shifting gears was silk. However, they instructed me to purchase a clutch rebuild and reinstall it, i opted to go for competition single plate clutch kit which B-Tune ordered for me. I also requested them to sell the rebuilt clutch on their used parts section on the website and they completely ignored my request. They still posses the clutch, i chose not to ship it to Kuwait because the shipping would too expensive and i dont want to cheat any of my friends with this poor clutch. The new clutch is much cheaper and preforms significantly better.
Now, a faulty clutch and bad welding on the exhaust manifold cant both be "installation errors" especially since they arent!
What shall i do? Any suggestions? I considered selling the entire turbo kit and going for something else but i have already lost $18000+ USD building this car and i would like to enjoy it and enjoy the cash i spent.
To send the manifold to InlinePro would cost me excess of $150 USD and i assume they will tell me that the defect is due to the installers error.
InlinePro's construction/fabrication quality and customer service is unbelievable!
I am taking it to the garage tomorrow to have the crack welded shut until further notice and while the headers are off i will post some photos. I hope that they dont make me hate my car, im already half way there!

You know, I heard it through the grape vine that IP was sold and they have a new owner. John Lee is "supposedly" not there anymore either and sold all his things. Jeremy Allen is "supposedly" gone too but does come in on occassions to build the engines. I assume the quality of IP is going in the crapper and this is not the first time I have heard about this stuff happening with them recently. But these are just rumors that I heard from a few different people.
Sorry to hear about your misfortunes with them. They used to be a very good and reputable company but it seems things may have changed recently, who knows. I dont think I'll be dealing with them anymore and will be having my engine built by Mike Laskey this fall if all this rings true.
BTW, that CC twin you purchased was probably a carbon disc clutch and they are known to wear out very fast. Especially if you do a lot of street driving and have to slip the clutch a lot.

Hmm I live 15 min from them and delt with them in the past they replaced my oil filter relocation plate without question as its not as big as a manifold or clutch they have answered all my questions and given me more that adequate customer service. That is very interesting information because I was thinking of going with there race manifold and intercooler.
