That sucks man but at least now youll have a fully built engine. Did Jeremy say how they thought the cylinders would have ovaled like that?

Hello,I'm one of the few that ordered a Peakboost Turbo Kit for my S2000. I've done lots of research & was debating on purchasing an Inline Pro Stage 2 turbo kit, or the Peakboost Turbo Kit. I inquired about the Peakboost Kit and spoke with Ken Peak himself. I felt like I could trust his word with ordering my kit and receiving it in a timely manner (6-8 weeks.) I felt at ease while conversating with Ken Peak and all my questions and concerns were all answered with no second guessing about the product or service. I ordered my Peakboost Turbo kit on Jan 12th. I was excited about the Peak kit and couldn't wait to finally receive my kit and finish up my project car. After waiting 6-8 weeks, I was anxious and called Ken to check status of shipment. He mentioned problems with HPC coating company did not do a good job coating and had some parts redone. Part of the kit arrived in June, and when it arrived the "coating" that took so long to have done was all scratched up on the manifold and misc parts. The packaging that the parts arrived in were poorly packaged and looked like they were just laying around the shop and they used them to ship the parts I did receive. Ken mentioned he would refund the $150 for the manifold coating. I paid in full but am still waiting on the a/c relocation kit, test pipe, gaskets, misc bolts, intake tube, coolant feed lines for the upgraded GT35r turbo, and at least some picture for installation if not actual instructions and some odds and ends. I have been leaving voice mails and call on a regular basis but there is no answer and no return phone calls in regards to my missing parts. I've even left a message on facebook with no response. It was supposed to take 6 to 8 weeks to receive the "complete" kit. It took 5 months and many phone calls to receive any parts at all. I'm sure the money I paid has been spent already but where is my complete kit??? Why is it that when the kit was paid in full, my kit wasn't shipped in full. Since I've paid in full, I don't get follow ups on my remainder of parts, no call backs or replies to my voicemails or message sent. It's like he took my money and ran. I should have gone the Inline pro route like I was going to in the beginning. I mentioned to Ken my goal to have my car running and tuned by March. TOO LATE. Bottom line, why haven't I received the remainder of my kit and the $150 refund to barely compensate for my scratched up turbo manifold. As Ken knows, I've been really patient and understanding about the delay on shipment of parts due to intercooler anodizing, HPC coating issues, etc. After 7 months has passed, I've finally posted my issues with Ken Peak. Still waiting on my remainder of parts so I can drive my car in the winter, oh yay. Hey Ken, give me a call. I want to get my car running this year!!!!

Because it's an open deck, stock block, with stock sleeves.

Hey man i am very sorry that it has had to come to this, i have talked to ken and expressed your dissapointment with him, unfortunatly he is not going to be reading your post here on S2ki, seeings how he rarely gets onto the forums.....

I know you are mad about your whole transaction with PeakBoost, but Ken does work 7 days a week at his shop doing his absolute best to expedite orders as fast as he can, I know for a fact he has had quite a bit of issues with HPC and also he has had metal and material suppliers that have been late on shipments and leaving him stranded for material to finish production.... Im not trying to make excuses for anyone, I am in no way affiliated (as an employee) with PB, but i do back PB and his products, I hope Ken can resolve this issue for you......

best ways to contact Ken are:

when putting the motor back together just take your time and follow the repair manual closely, i would start with installing the oil pump and oil pump spocket together, than from there install the oil pump chain tensioner, with the motor upside down install the cam chain (making sure to install the colored link in the correct position) and let it dangle, than install the lower chain guide (across from tensioner) and then follow that by installing the 2 cam chain guides. From there i zip tied the cam chain to the stationary guide (not the one the TCT applys pressure to) that way it doesnt move, install the crank trigger wheel, than install the front cam case cover...

make sure to put some hondabond where the timing cover meet the block on the head mounting surface, install the headgasket and again put hondabond all around the cam case opening... with a buddy cut your zip tie loose while holding tension on the chain to relieve the slack, work the head down onto the block, while pulling the chain up thru the opening in the head (make sure you have the dowels in place) when you get the head onto the block, zip tie the chain to the cam idler bolt hole, and torque everything down.

after torquing the head install the cam idler sprocket assembly minus the front washer (makes it much easier) and position the spocket to make sure everything is on TDC and the dot on the idler gear should be in the middle of the 2 colored links on the cam chain, if the dot is there and the dash marks are even with the head, and the crank is on TDC you are good. put the front washer into the head (dont drop it) and put the idler bolt thru the spocket assembly (make sure to lube the threads with oil) and tighten (make sure the head of the bolt goes into the head flush, if it feels like its going in tough, it probally is, back the bolt out and readjust the sprocket and washer, if you force it in you will break the bolt or strip the head...

when that is tight, install your TCT before installing the cams, and recheck your TDC marks, if everything is ok, advance to installing the cams....

hope this helps

getting the motor back into the car for me is a alot easier because i have access to a lift, but basically what i do is setup 5 jackstands underneath the cradle, and lower the car onto the stands. Remove the bolts and drop the cradle onto the 4 stands (the fifth one will support the tranny shortly)

have a couple buddies remove the motor from the engine stand and bolt the motor to the engine mounts on the cradle, if you have the honda crank pulley holder, use that to hold the crank while you install the flywheel/pressure plate and clutch disc. than stab the tranny onto the block and support the rear of the trans housing with the 5th jackstand. slowly lower the car back down onto the cradle and tighten the bolts and install the rear trans mount... the rest is self explainatory lol

i will have a shit ton of pics to update with soon!
