Is there a default setting for this BOV?

RZ and RS are the same, just different colors.

The setting that it comes with out of the box is the factory setting. It's not the best i.e. one size does not fit all. Just tighten it until you get compressor surge, then back it out a little at a time until it goes away.

NO. Open at idle would mean you car would be pulling air in the BOV, because the charge pipes are at negative pressure at idle. The BOV is closed at idle.

Ok guys here is the update. Took the bov apart and checked the diaphragm and everything was good on it. Come to find out the adjustment bolt at the top of the bov was leaking. I applied some thread tape to it and my problem ceased. Thanks for all the help guys

The BOV will stay shut at idle unless you gave an very light spring in the bov. It takes a combination of boost pressure pushing the valve and vacume from the manifold livting the valve when the throttle is closed in a boost condition to open the valve. If it stayed open in the case of a mass airflow vehicle then the car would sputter and missfire.

I'm PRETTY sure the way to adjust it is to make sure it's closed at idle but I could be totally wrong.

Thanks again for all the input. It does in fact stay shut at idle.
