Issues with supercharged s2k
#11
Thank you to all who tried to help, much appreciated! So this is what happened... the fuel sending unit arm got stuck on the Walbro filter and essentially the car was out of gas but showed 1/4 tank. Anyway, I changed it to a deutche works dw300 and all is good. What a pain to change fuel pumps though! I’m a tall guy and teaching behind the seats is annoying as hell. Thanks!

Why did you switch from a Walbro to a DW? I know Walbros get shit for being noisy, but in terms of dependability I haven't seen many good things when it comes to DW pumps. One of my Subaru tuners wouldn't touch a car with a DW fuel pump installed; and they're a well-known tuning shop on this side of the coast.

The Walboro was fine then, you either just need to fill up when it shows 2 bars left on the gauge or bend the float arm to re position it.
Yeah Ive seen a lot of reports on failed DW fuel pumps as well. I think they come in the kw kits and most people just toss them. There are a handful of much better options for pumps on the market. FB340 is a great pump but a little pricey when you can get an AEM320 for 2/3rd the cost and what id recommend for that reason. Ive put a lot of miles on both of those pumps and they are quiet and work reliably with great flow capacity.

Ironically I have a DW65c in my Si that I had installed with future potential plans before I realized that instead of wasting money on a civic I could buy an s2000, lol. Not hating on civics though; I’d just rather have an s2k. Plus my civic is my daily, and I’m just too lazy to put the stock pump back in. It’s been running good for about a year and a half now. We’ll see though. Luckily I kept the OEM pump for when and if this shits out

I still have the walbro but the DW is in already and I’m not doing that dance again anytime soon lol. I went with DW because of the brushless motor and I’m not making 500+ hp. I may change it again down the road but for now it’s fine.

I also agree that the AEM 320 fuel pump and ID injectors are about the best all around combo, and works for anything under approx 525whp on pump.
