J's header vs Hytech long tube S/C header
So recently, I have installed the Hytech twin loop exhaust on my car in search of more power and after MANY months of waiting, I decided to do a comparison between the J’s racing header and the Hytech long tube S/C header.
I must first preface this by saying that all of these tests were done as accurately as possible and these results are what were achieved on MY car with MY modifications. At this time I HAVE NOT YET DRIVEN THE CAR! Being that I am approx. 120miles from King Motorsports, I still need to pick up the car and get some driving impressions.
Please note that there are two days in between the dyno runs (we tried to get everything done in one day, but it just didn’t turn out that way). Sorry, I know that ideally we all would like comparisons done on the same day.
The protocol was as follows: install the Injector Dynamics ID1000 injectors, and then tune for the J’s header, a Berk Technologies 70mm test pipe with the Hytech twin loop exhaust (2.75” to dual 2.5”). Make a few pulls once tuned and record the best run. Remove the J’s header and Berk Technologies 70mm test pipe and install the Hytech header and Hytech 2.75” test pipe and re-tune. Make a few pulls once tuned and record the best run.
As it would seem, the smaller exhaust may be the better way to go with my car and my modifications. Although my last dyno was in November of 2009 (perhaps not the best way to compare), I made more power at that time with the previous exhaust and test pipe (Fujitsubo Legalis R 60mm to dual 50mm with a Berk Technologies 60mm test pipe) and J’s header. I may decide to re-install the Fuji and re-tune again to get a more current dyno…we’ll see.

Thank you to Mike, Tim and all at King for helping with this…Oh…and you too RAIN H8R!

Dyno is a Dynojet 224
Boost was at the Kraftwerks standard high boost issue of 10 lbs.
Vtec is at 3800 for the J's and 4200 for the Hytech

i have heard similar results when other member tested single exhaust with the 60-dual 50 and a 3" mid to 2x 2.5".. and got really good results with the 60mm to 2x50mm
seems supercharger doesnt mind that 60 to dual 50mm exhaust at all.
And i wasnt expecting miracles in the header department..

very good info !
seems like 60 or 63.5mm dia. is the way to go with a SC!!! No need for loud 3" or even 2.75"dia.
I am too SC with comptech @10psi and I am using a 2.5" single custom made exhaust

based on SFV s2k's results.
sorry for the 'Greek'

So about 10hp more in VTEC with the HYTECH vs. J's
Anyone wanna buy my J's?
Is the Mugen exhaust 60mm to dual 50mm as well?

Yes I believe the Mugen is exactly that.
