S2oooNvegas, I think in your situation the KW would likely suit you better.

I dont feel the SOT kit deserves to be bashed like that. With respect the KW kit has the intake piping for the blower a single mere inch from the header heatsheild. The blower itself isnt that far away either. So when it comes to heat and blower longevity i think its really a mute point since both kits are in close proximity to the header.

I can attest that Camunam's SOT kit has some grunt. He and I had a very close race. While I did come out on top on the highway runs, I can promise you he would leave me hurting for power on mountain runs where midrange power is king.

There are things about the SOT kit I would change. For example: a rear mounted battery, and a V air/air mount intercooler. The way the intercooler piping is setup and the position of the blower is just screaming for a killer intercooler setup like that. But thats just me. The SOT kit may not win the 'show' award for under the hood aesthetics but it delivers undeniably most TQ throughout the powerband vs ALL other off the shelf turbo or supercharger kits. And of course we all know the KW kit is limited out of the box. The SOT isnt and still has room to grow.

While I still hold firm that the KW kit has the most peak power right out of the box vs other off the shelf kits. I cant complain at all with 355whp with OEM header, and OEM exhaust @ 10psi. I just dont have the tire shredding TQ like the SOT kit. Personally I like the linear and controllable way the KW kit provides power.

Im confused.
LOL. nobody is touting anything, i simply said i like the KW kit best. to me sot is garbage. and the vortech and comptech are very similar to KW at similar boost levels. (as proven by this threads dyno sheets)
And to set the record straight against these recent retarded comments.
Jacks kit was a BOLT ON kit. This kid could mirror it exactly. you guys are confusing the DBW kits with the youtune kit.
Any kw kit with header/catless exh/TB and youtune can make that 395 whp.
let me say it again

THE 395 WHP WAS MADE BEFORE THE HEAD WAS INSTALLED.

so it wasnt "highly modified".
theres no need to start another thread. I was using it as an example of what a well matched kit install and simple bolt ons can do with a good tune.
his original question seems to be in the hunt for response and driveability.
Thats why i replied.
I will concede that the KW you tune kit is more desirable than the DBW for at least two reasons; a better tune (read: more power) as it will be tuned for the specific car and better resale. Two big problems with the KW DBW kits are, the tune is locked and if you decide to sale the kit you have to have your ECU reflashed back to stock and the new owner will have to pay to get their ECU flashed or buy a KPRO. OP: Keep this in mind if you decide to buy an 06+ S2000 as they are DBW.

I thought Jack hit 395HP with the 95mm pulley, not the 100mm pulley that comes with the kit. Was I mistaken? If so I apologize. (For readers that don

You may want to edit this part of your post. The SOT kit does NOT deliver more torque throughout the powerband than a lot of turbo kits. Down low, yes but up high, no sir.

I'd like to see a comparison of the afforementioned kits peak number vs. area under the curve.

my numbers UNCORRECTED

for both a 125mm and a 135mm crank pulley

Note My motor is proving to have better then average flow then the other AP2 running the kit.

First graph has the HP and the TQ ranges scaled to relay more resolution hence the TQ curve at the beginning looks different then most people are acoustom to seeing with a roots.

The second graph is more realistic in terms of a qualitative representation of how teh power comes in; the TQ is instant.

^^^IAT after 4 back to back runs is pretty impressive.

I'm assuming you track your kit (from your sig picture). How does it handle the track temps?

Imagine if he had cooling mods and hondata gasket?
Thats what jacks car had, and we were all suprised to see the AEM showing is 84 degrees IAT after 6 full pulls on the dyno. We couldnt budge the IAT.
very happy with that.
105 is nice too though, no complaints there.
