I had the KW High Boost kit installed since October. What are you getting for MPG? I am settling to about 16.5. I used to be between 23.5 and 24 mpg before the install. Also, does anyone have trouble with slow starts? I still have my OEM battery (from 2005), but the slow start started right after installing the kit. It always starts, but instead of the normal 1/2 sec on the start button, sometimes it's 1 to 2 seconds.
What tuning solution do you have? Cause that's the cause of the slow start.

I am using eManage Ultimate that came with the kit. I am not planning to do it now, but would like to get it tuned. Before I do, I haven't quite decided on any other mods that could further change the parameters of the tune (e.g. exhaust). I also looked around for eManage Ultimate tuners and typical S2K tuners don't seem to want to touch it.
Thanks slinkydog. I'm just sold on Kraftwerks. They seem so simple and overall a great system. SOS seem good too but like I said before, I have their clutch in my car and I'm not that pleased with it. It feels like stock normal driving, but if you go WOT when you shift at 8k it feels like you hit a brick wall and it wont go into gear and you have to push pretty hard to get it into gear. With that being said, if I'm not happy with their clutch, I feel like I may possibly have issues with their S/C kit.
Thank you all for all the very helpful information. I'm completely sold for the KW kit and I'm not looking back! I called Brian back yesterday with a few more questions and he didn't hesitate to answer them. So far customer help is terrific. I can't wait to order my kit.
I have heard nothing but good things with this kit. I really like that it comes with a oil cooler and intercooler. I know a few people in my area who have it and they said customer service is the best. I will most likely go with this kit. I have seen and rode in a car with the SOS kit, its a really nice kit.
I wound up replacing the eManage Ultimate piggy-back system that came pre-programmed in the kit with K-Pro and a new RSX ECU. I had it tuned by Evans Tuning. It eliminated the weird surges I was getting while cruising at moderate highway speeds. I have now been on the track twice with the kit installed and it has bee very friendly on the track. No more yo-yo laps with higher HP cars that are slower around the corners.
Like most things there are no black and white answers. I just bought and installed the kit. Here are my observations:
The good:
1. The kit works well. Even with high boost, the response is very linear and great on the street. I haven't tracked it yet, but I think it will be great.
2. Brian at Skunk2 is a really nice guy and provided great service.
The bad:
1. My kit came with missing pieces. We had to write Brian and wait for parts to arrive.
2. The kit didn't come with the fancy manual everyone raved about. When I wrote after receiving the kit, Brian sent me a PDF. The kit didn't come with a parts list. See #1 above.
3. I had to wait a couple of months before getting the kit. I don't know what caused the delay.
4. With high boost, the BOV is constantly releasing pressure. It sounds like she-she-she-she. Kind of weird. Also, it surges a bit when not on full throttle. You feel it in traffic.
5. See my prior post. With eManage Ultimate (what you would get with an '04), I'm having slow starts.
6. Ignore all the posts about minimal loss of MPG. You might get more than 23 mpg if you shift at 2500 rpm. You will want to flog the car with all that power. I'm getting 16 - 17 mpg. I'm still shifting at the same rpm as before.
I think the strength of the kit outweighs some of these issues. I want to repeat, Brian's service was great, but I think Skunk2 could have avoided the need for the service in the first place. If I do it again, I would get Youtune.
