If you look at the older posts you can see that Kraftwerks had their problems under the Jacksons. That is over now and Skunk2 has the business end intact. I recently had a rotrex unit go south on me and they completely warranted it. The Jacksons didn't do anything wrong except not be very good business men. I love my High boost kit, it is just the right amount of power when you want it with real daily driveability. I really don't like the power curve of turbos. That said you can find used units for sale. I think s4play had one for sale awhile ago.

I purchased the AP2 Kraftwerks kit last fall and have been nothing but pleased with the kit thus far; not a single problem in several thousand miles of driving. The ordering process was a terrible wait; I placed the order in June and didn't get it until October of last year (fortunately I didn't pay until the kit was ready to ship). I believe most of that wait was caused by sourcing and testing certain new components (e.g., the tensioner) in order to update the kit, and also by the restructuring crap left in the wake of the Jackson family leaving the business. I will say that the wait for this kit was definitely worth it. I wanted a kit that would distinguish itself from standard centrifugal superchargers and had heard nothing but praise from drivers who had installed a Rotrex on their K24 Atoms. The kit makes more power than I can really use at times; easily losing traction in 4th at the higher rev range is scary at speed. The Kraftwerks website appears to be still be up, so I assume they are still in business. Get the kit... you won't regret it.
Sounds like you need more meat on the groung and/or better tires
This. 355 at the wheels won't break a 215 allterrain loose in fourth. You must be double spinning that blower.

Thanks slinkydog. I'm just sold on Kraftwerks. They seem so simple and overall a great system. SOS seem good too but like I said before, I have their clutch in my car and I'm not that pleased with it. It feels like stock normal driving, but if you go WOT when you shift at 8k it feels like you hit a brick wall and it wont go into gear and you have to push pretty hard to get it into gear. With that being said, if I'm not happy with their clutch, I feel like I may possibly have issues with their S/C kit.

Sounds like your clutch wasnt installed correctly. Fwiw

I took it to Honda and had the dealer install the clutch. Other than hard shifting at redline, it shifts like stock.

Buddy who has a Boss 302 had an issue that after a couple of laps the clutch pedal would stick to the floor and it would take a while to get in gear in the higher gears. He went and got an aftermarket clutch installed. The issue of WOT shifts over 7500k it did the same thing as yours. They found something to do with RPM and centrifugal force the clutch wasn't releaseing. He put a stock clutch back in it and is selling the car.

I used to think the same thing. Then I put one on my car. The first time I heard that bish spool up and felt that surge it changed my mind for good though. These cars were made for turbo's.

Hmm, I'm not sure about that. I drove my AP1 with SOS Novi 1200 over to Mr Honda's shop to buy his SOS TB, and while I was there he gave me a ride in his AP2 KW high boost. I was very impressed. It sounded awesome, had more low-end/midrange than my SOS (at 12psi) and felt ideally, naturally suited to the S2000. It really changed my perceptions of the Rotrex SC.

Now, sure, once I cranked my Novi 1200 up to 15.5psi there was no contest. SOS has been totally awesome to work with, and their kit was well designed and bulletproof in terms of reliability. Perhaps a Novi 1220 doesn't sound as bad as my 1200 did... But to be perfectly honest, I don't miss having a Paxton blower on my car at all. I do still think about wanting a Rotrex.

The first time you feel a turbo shove you back in the seat is better than the first time you discovered beer. It's mind altering. The insatiable need to experience that again is the only thing keeping me from buying a TTS Rotrex kit.

The rumors of Kraftwerks demise are greatly exaggerated...I got mine more than a year ago and I am very happy with it. So far nothing than an oil change in 7K miles. I had a ride in a Comptech SC and the Kraftwerks had better mid-range and stock like levels of noise and vibration. The fact is that the Rotrex is more efficient than the centrifugals and you need to crank up the boost with upgraded pulley to do better or same with the SOS. Living far away from a large urban area also results in no tuners nearby, so we should compare the bolt on kits from KW and SOS...BTW, I dd mine and a tank of gas goes 280 miles in suburban commute.

I do not use my S on the hwy, much. I go up and down on a mountain on a daily basis. I would not trade more power-as in a turbo kit for delayed throttle response or non liniar power delivery. For me my S has more power than chassis.

Honestly. There is no legitimate difference in midrange. If both cars are set with vtec at 4k power bands are very similiar. I was sold on a kw kit till I researched the hell out of it. Then I went roots then I went turbo lol. 450>350 rofl. So much more fun.

I was talking about bolt on kits, no tuning, no upgraded pulley no header...I understand that comparing different dynos have some limitations, but the torque curve and numbers looks quite better on the KW web site compared to the SOS's one. The difference is more than 20lb at peak and more that that under 4000rpm. Also, there are several dyno of KW from s2ki folks showing about the same numbers.

Thank you all for all the very helpful information. I'm completely sold for the KW kit and I'm not looking back! I called Brian back yesterday with a few more questions and he didn't hesitate to answer them. So far customer help is terrific. I can't wait to order my kit.

I just wish there was someone around where I live that has this kit so I could ride in their car. Unfortunately I am the only S2k owner around.
