i think you might still be able to see the vtec kick on the dyno though. Do you have a dyno sheet to show the power curve?

what kind of plugs did you replace them with?
NGK BKR8EIX-11 plugs. It's not "no vtec", just no power over ~5500 or so. It stops building. Going to dyno wed.

when i said you'd be able to see the vtec kick on the dyno sheet. you'd see it between 4000 and 4500 rpms.

It may be a spark issue- I Have the colder NGKs @ 030 right now, going to try stock plugs on the dyno tomorrow.

I'm thinking plugs, too. The car feels awesome at 3/4 throttle all the way to redline, but breaks up over ~6000 at WOT. Gonna get stock plugs and head to the dyno tomorrow.

My car ran great with the stock plugs but after reading threads I decided to put in 1 step colder plugs for safety. I called NGK and they talked me into the 2668 plugs and told me to gap them to .034.I noticed the car seemed a little more sluggish than with the stock plugs.I then changed them to the 5068 plugs Oscar had recommended and left the factory gap of .040.The car has more pull everywhere.I think .030 is to small a gap for the tune maybe not getting a complete burn(just speculation).Remember the tune was done with stock plugs and stock gap.I'm really happy with the 5068 plugs (little peace of mind) but I am sure the stock plugs would have been fine also.My car runs so smooth,I love this kit.Best money I ever spent on modding a car.

The VTEC transitions soo smoothly at 4000 that you don't feel the VTEC anymore. I really dont know what VTEC feels like anymore but I know its working.
Wow so if you're doing any highway cruising above 80 mph you're doing it in VTEC now?
