Default Laskey Racing - Inlinepro - ERL

Let me start this by saying I don't want this to be a this block is better than that block thread.

I am simply asking for all those that have built shortblocks to chime in w/ experience, problems or anything else you feel is pertinent to your short block.

Just trying to get a feel on what blocks people have gone with and what has worked for them.

I have an ERL Performance block. I have a little over 1000 miles with no problems, leaks, etc. I have boosted well into the 28psi+ range for one tank of gas so far. The block is sleeved, race bearings, and ceramic coated pistons. If you want further details Shawn at ERL can elaborate better than I.

Thanks
Chris

Laskey built block over here and I have been happy with it. Not a whole lot of miles yet since it's in the body shop right now. However I've been keeping the revs above 6,000rpm's for most of the time and it has been good so far. Water temps have always been good. If I get a new head some time soon I will see what shape the bottom end is in. Only 363whp of stress on it so far so we will see what more power will do to it.

there is a reason I have Jeremy Allen (InlinePro) build my motors....results. I have had blocks built by everyone out there and I am glad I finally found someone who dedicated their personal time to make the best motor possible.

As for what I have invested finacially over the years to find this out...you REALLY do not want to know.

Waited FOREVER for my ERL block, but now that it's in, I have nothing but good things to say. 500+ whp for over 300 miles w/out incident.

I would like to know how many of the 500HP guys could go for a track day on a FIA track and last the whole day.

if built correctly no problem...the primary weakness in high horsepower motors is not in the bottom end, but rather in the head and its components. And that weakness is manufacturer related at this current time. Again, John's car is over 500whp and is running well over one year on the streets...no problem.

I'm running a Golden Eagle sleeved block put together by TC's Performance. It's running great so far and I'm very happy with it.
