Leak found in #4 fuel injector after 3000 miles of leak free driving
I can't believe it. I have put about 3000 miles on this car without any fuel leaks. Came home on Saturday from a 100 mile trip. Car ran fine with multiple full boost pulls on the highway. After putting her in the garage, I always pop the hood to let the heat escape and noticed a gas smell by the fuel rail. On Sunday went to look at the car in more detail and I found that the #4 injector is leaking from the top O ring.
I remembered when I was installing the injectors I used motor oil to lube the O rings but I had a difficult time seating 2 of the 4 injectors (#4 injector being one of them) into the bore of the fuel rail. So I removed the injector to have a closer look. I then noticed that from me pushing the (mis-seated) injector into the bore that I left a slight crease in the O ring (no tearing seen). I decided to install them anyway to see what happens. Well 3000 miles later leaky #4 injector. If this happens to you please install a new O ring before properly installing the injector. And carry a fire extinguisher in the car!
I am lucky that my car didn't burn to the ground.
Today I ordered 4 new top O rings from T1 Race Development.
I hope the car wasn't running lean in cylinder #4 during the full boost pulls.

I am going to get Te 2.5 lb halon fire extinguisher and mount it in the cabin so it is within easy reach. After this leak that I found the thought of my car burning became very REAL!!!. If your car is stock I wouldn't worry about it, but if it is heavily modded like mine their are things that can go wrong like electrical shorts, blown engines, fuel leaking (me). I highly suggest that every FI S2K should have one. I have spent too much time, money and love to watch this car burn to the ground. As seen in my situation anything can go wrong at anytime.

I pulled the 4th injector out and found this:

I went ahead and replaced the top O rings on all of the injectors. I think it was when I initially installed them I forced the 4th one in causing this to happen.
I also got the fire extinguisher mounted:

On more leaks and I feel safe now.
