The Valve Keeper Remover & Installer tool looks nice! Wish I had that tool when I changed my retainers.

Used this tool and it sucked! Had to grind it down to fit onto the spring, then took me 1-2hrs figuring the best way to compress the spring. Lost a keeper to one of the oil drain holes. Found it later in the oil pan when I did my jet bolts.

Nice write up!

you'll bend an exhaust valve before you crack an ap1 exhaust retainer so you only need to replace the intake side on an ap1

I believe Billman250 (sp?) has also posted information regarding adverse effects of using ap2 retainers on the exaust valves - something about their extra weight causing issues at high-rpms...

This thread has confused me. Should I replace the retainers or not? Ap2 retainers are not good for exhaust side? Ti retainers dont last long? What should a poor Ap1 guy do for cheap insurance if anything?

So, just wondering, once you put new springs and retainers in and adjust everything, do you need to go back and readjust later? I am having my BC Dual Springs installed with TI retainers monday and was wondering if they had a "break in" period where they would then require another valve adjustment etc. thanks for info!

I have had ti retainers for over 25 k. planning to check on them when swapping into another chassis.
