its a common misconception over what is considered overheating. This is exactly why most car manufactured make the water temp gauge sit at the same spot for a 50 degree range. in the s2k, 180-230 it stays at what we all consider normal and starts to rise above 230. now, i can say that in my SRT it does not do the range, what the temp is the gauge reads, so it moves around all day. this doesnt mean the car is overheating. read this thread, first guy even says he sees 215-220 on an autocross!!!!!!

My temp sensor is located in the upper radiator tube .. I have and ap2 normal is 8 bars I believe .. It's on 8 bars from about 125 degrees till 212 about . The. Starts to move up to half lit gauge on dash .. Somewhere someone's numbers are off .. 210 and 230 it's a huge jump.. 210 sounds about right if my oem guage moves at 212

my apologies, its 180-225. Seriously, 212 is not bad. http://www.modifry.com/index.php?rou...product_id=157 look at the manual. stock ap2 gauge is programmed to stay on the same light from 180-225. the modifry fix for aem update changes the gauge to 180-205.
If you had oem ecu, it def would be. BUT, In this case, it could be. I am not sure A. how aem v2 drives the temp gauge, IE if it changes the scale for the lights like modifry does, and B. how aem v2 temp scale in AEM software relates to original oem scale. v1 its close but not exact.
