S2000 Forced Induction S2000 Turbocharging and S2000 supercharging, for that extra kick.

Looks like the begining of the End :(

Double clutching was done before syncros were invented. Not going to hurt anything

Yep.

I've crunched my 2nd gear a handful of times, a few before it was even boosted, lol.

Seems my tranny runs better once it gets some heat in it..seems really tight, notchy until the car is really hiot..then it shifts like butter.

B/c of this I've just learned to be patient until I really get on it, most of my runs are 2-4 and I usually let off by 5th, or if I hit 5th, I shift it slow anyway.

Do you guys have different gears? I can't seem to ever get on it even in 4th. Outta room and going 95 already. I datalogged yesterday just for fun and at 8800 RPM in 3rd gear at 18 psi I am going 95. I would need a track to get any boost in 4th gear and 5th gear is just to slow down. Forget boost in 6th. I have a stage 3 puddymod rear with 4.07 gears and an AP2 tranny. Just curious.

Cool, thanks again brotha! and is what happened to me kinda sorta normal for us boosted guys?
Gear issues have happened to me also. I'm running boosted (SC at about 315whp) and I couldn't get into 3rd gear after 4 hard sessions at Laguna Seca nor the whole 2 hour drive home.

I drove it to get it looked at this last Saturday and 3rd gear was working fine again. I took it to Driving Ambition to check out. Shad said he hasn't had this specific problem on any of the ~3 boosted NSXs/S2Ks he manages, so he said he'd check into it. He said it could be heat or transmission oil related but he had no solid guess. I was in third gear a lot at Laguna, so it's possible that it got overheated in that specific gear since it was being used so much. Most of the day I was between 2nd, 3rd, and 4th gears.

I am running on Motul transmission fluid, so we're going to flush it out, check it out for visual issues, and replace with some more Motul. I'll let you know if we find anything out.

I'm not too sure if its normal for high hp boosted S's. I just know it happened to me also. I made a thread a while back when I first had it happen to me but never really got an answer on it. I just basically kinda figured out what was causing the problem and that was banging 5th and 6th gears. Since I stopped that, it hasnt happened again. I'd like to know if more people with 550+ whp have also experienced the problem or not. Its definitely weird and I have no clue as to what is actually causing the lockout. I'm just assuming its the over heated stress put onto the single synchro's when we are trying to shift very quickly with a ton of power. At first, I thought I bent a shift fork or something but I dont slam gears hard, I just shift very smooth and very quickly. When the gears came back, I assumed the problem was just the single synchro's and shifting too fast with that much power.
Good to hear.

I dunno if its because I am twinsroll or not, but in 5th & 6th gear it spools freakishly quick , no lag at all.......... So It is easy for me to really get moving in the higher gears.

I don't know if thats what you meant?

joeyballs is ap2 trans so top of 5th is around 130mph.

ap1 rev with ap2 trans and 4.07 rear i could see 95 in third happen. in my car third at 8400rpm is 86ish.

I have the exact same setup as you... LOL. Copied completely from by Pang.

No, I have no problem hitting boost, my problem is the speed at which I am traveling. I am already going 95 in third gear and so to keep boosting and go into 4th, I am flying. I am not scared, jsut no where to drive that fast (at least very often)

The one time I shifted to 4th and left my foot in it, i was going 120. I don't know how to avoid tickets and boost 5th gear.

I am going to try double clutching if its good for the tranny while I am driving hard. Honestly it's my own fault I have been very hard on 5th gear, thats where I have done most of my pulls...........

Thanks guys I keep you updated and try double clutching.

Just for my knowledge, double clutching is not going to wear down anything else is it? Like my clutch? and can I double clutch on both up & downshifts?

God I sound like such a nooberoni
Trust me Joey when you learn to double clutch it'll actually be fun lol
I have been double clutching for 3-4 years now. Cars fine.
