Default Losing boost when hot

Hi all,

When my oil temp is around 80 deg C, and I start boosting, I get around 22psi, which is exactly what I tuned the engine for.
After 2 or 3 pulls, the exhaust and everthing gets hot (oil temp is ok) and my boost drops down to 19, maybe 20 psi tops.

I checked my intake piping, intercooler, intake mani... doesn't seem to leak. The exhaust manifold and tial wastegate seem ok (both pretty new, 1000miles tops)

Setup: pfab ff mani, pte 6266 jb, tial wastegate, tial bov, id1000s, water to air intercooler

I'm interested in what you guys think this drop of boost might come from.Any input is welcome.

Thanks.
Jasper

Not exactly sure, as long as u we're tuning with everything hot and up to temp. It should be pretty consistent.

Could u post your air/h2o setup and what kind of iats u get. Review, exchanger size an cooler size.

If I tune the engine to 22psi when hot... I will overboost when it's too cold. Hitting fuel cut is pretty agressive, so i'd rather just have 22psi all the time.
iat's reach 40, sometimes 50 C. The heatexchanger is pretty big and cools well, but the placement of the cooler itself isn't ideal. It's right behind the radiator, so it heats up.
The cooler is the ''1000hp biggie'' from frozenboost.com

Do you think my intercooler setup / iat's are the source of the problem?

No, I was just interested in your h2o setup. I think you need to tune it where it will be 99% of the time tho. I don't have a oil temp sensor but I don't get into it until my ECT reaches 177 because that's the lowest I can get it fully warmed up cruising on open road. My Iats also are very close to ambient.

What kind of filter do u have on the inlet? Or is it coupled to a pipe and then filter.... Just for cheap purposes try doing a hot run with it off and report. If ur hell bent on having a filter on it, I know Apex has one of the best designs. The vibrant I have is similar to it. Where I'm at right now (lower then you) my tuner was trying to get me to go with one of those turbo guard screens. But it's a street car right now so rather stay on the safer side.

My point is tho. If u do have a filter on it. If the compressor can't breathe, you can't boost. U might be seeing that extra 2psi because of how cold the setup and surrounding air still is, until it's up to temps. But if you allow more of the hotter air in u might not need to mess with anything....
