Default low 17 AFR on startup idle

Heyy soo all is well with the car seems like everything is running and working no leaks or anything..Only problem i noticed is my AEM wideband was showing 14.5 afr for the first 10 seconds then drop to 17.4 and stays there and the i get the 3 lines ( - - - ). I shut the car down as i understand that is dangerously lean.. Now what i do have is hks exhuast , test pipe, and BOV which i understand the base map is not meant for... could that be whats casuing me to lean out? also clarify that there are no vacuum leaks..

Im going to get it tuned but i was gonna drive it down there and now its looking way to lean to even think of driving

AFR ratios of 17 are potentially dangerous under moderate to heavy loads. At idle and light load cruising you will be just fine.

when the air pump turns on you will get a high a/f for about a minute then when the pump turns off it should go back to mid 14's

Same thing happens to me when the air pump turns on.

Depends on several things. EMS system, startup calibration, AIT correction or ECT correct, ect.

Regardless of all those factors, no load with a 17 AFR isn't going to make your motor blow up. But you will run a risk of burning up spark plugs faster and creating higher engine temps. I wouldn't worry too much unless you see those AFR in actual load.

It does this because the air pump is on. EVERYDAY when I turn my car on, the AEM UEGO has to calibrate (why you are seeing numbers) then it will go to full lean after calibrating (why you are seeing - - -) because the car is trying to warm the cat up so it is in a leaner state.

It's fine. It's reading like it's supposed to. After the air pump goes off, it will maybe be at 13 for a second or so, and then you can watch the stock ECU work it's way up to that magical 14.7.
