Just found out the shop that did the install used 5w-20 oil . Normally I think this would be fine, espeically as we are moving into the summer but I think I'm going to drain it out and put in 10w-30 to raise the pressure a bit...and yes I feel dumb thinking my motor was on its way out....

Rule of thumb.... for more than half a century...
10 psi for each 1000 rpm.
so close to 20 psi would be ok @ idle. Remember, there's no load on the rotating assemblies and crank bearings.
at 8000 you should see 80 psi at full operating temps.

well thats why you bought the oil pressure gauges right? Its a good way to see if something is wrong, and from what you gathered from the shop, you have found the reason for the lower oil pressure!

Once the engine is up to operating temp it will idle between 780 and 850.
My oil psi, however, is still between 27-30 psi on a warm idle. And it passes 90psi with no trouble as soon as it starts to rev up. I've even got the GReddy adapter in place.
I don't have an oil temp gauge though to know what my oil temps are at.
