mac boost solenoid question ?
whats up guys ,im running a greddy kit and using a mac boost solenoid as my boost control, i notice after longer drives i lose boost control and it runs stock boost . when this happens i notice the solenoid is extremely hot , burns your hand instantly if you touch it, is this normal ? should i try relocating the solenoid to a cooler area . is the solenoid over heating or getting to hot that it stops working ?
il post some pics once i get home and yess it gets super hot , you cant even touch it , it will burn you ,i dont know how hot they can get before they stop working but im suspecting that cause the wiring and everything seems fine
Yes its pretty close to the turbo, the fans are always throwing hot air at it, I have it right behind the horn where the strut mounts to, the cast iron log manifold , turbo n engine I think is making it heat up , along with the 85degree weather here in miami.

That's too far. Mine sits on the frame rail in the bay on the intake manifold side and its fine. U might have other issues. I'd move it to the drivers side. If problem continues something else is wrong.
