Default Mac solenoid "clicks"

Wired one wire to 12v switched and the other to d16 on AEM just like it says. When I key car on, fuel pump primes and then the mac solenoid starts clicking and doesn't stop. The wires are not supposed to be polarity specific. When I unplug from d16 it stops clicking.

You need to setup in the AEM to have the soleniod to not come on until ~5 mph through the speed sensor. There is a way to do it, just can't remember exactly how.

Whew, ok I thought something was wrong! I'm having a hell of a time trying to setup the AEM. I have two laptops, one with a serial port and one without. The one without is compatible with the AEM software, but I can't get the usb driver to connect. The one with a serial port is too old and has Windows XP, so I'm annoyed. May just have to hook it all up and just let my tuner load everything to be sure I wired it correctly, although I followed the directions exactly. I chose to use an old o2 sensor and chopped the clip off. I wired the wideband "output" wire to the clip to get signal to c16 from the factory o2 harness connection. That way I didn't have to chop into the stock harness. Stratocaster on here explained to me how to do it, makes swapping back to stock much easier.

You can set the solenoid to 0% duty cycle in vacuum. It will start to click when you enter positive pressure.

Here is an example of a solenoid map courtesy of herecomesboost.

If you are using closed loop feedback it will still add duty cycle even if there is no duty in vacuum. Easiest thing is to target 0psi under a certain speed

Is turning closed loop fb on as easy as changing the pro/int gains from zero?

I've just been running off the main table and "boost error duty" table.
