Default Map Sensor Calibrations - You Might Check Yours

Since my trubo has not made it back so I decided to check the Omni 4 Bar map sensor calibration just to see how far it is off. What I found was that mine was off by a few PSI in vacuum and over 5 PSI at 30 PSI. Long story short I ajusted the calibration to work across the full range of the sensor and I would STRONGLY encourage everyone to check theirs.

I verified with 3 guages but I am going to bring home a certified calibrated gauge tomorrow from work to verify one more time.

Dsddcd's Omni Map Sensor Calibration
Map Min.......0.12 V
Map Max......4.88 V

Omni's Map Sensor Calibration

Just bumping, there are a lot of people that should look into this. This is NOT an Omni issue only and being off can be bad.

For instance when we were making pulls on pump gas I though we were at 23-25PSI but we were at 30PSI.

What method did you use for verifying and making the adjustments? I reviewed some logs and noticed my sensor isn't 100% accurate in kpro compared to an external source but it is very close

I started by making a hose with a Y coming off of the map sensor. On one side I have a 30” to 10PSI automotive diagnostic gauge on the other side I used a Mighty Vac pump with an integral gauge. Starting with at 0 PSI I drew the system down to 25” in 5” increments and checked that the EMS was reading properly while tuning the calibrations values.

Next, I disconnected the vacuum pump and used compressed air with a regulator and gauge, the diagnostic gauge up to 10PSI and a tire pressure gauge inline to raise the pressure in 5 PSI increments up to 40PSI again modifying the calibration.

Unfortunately, my accuracy over 10PSI was only about 1-2 PSI but that is a linear error which is acceptable for most but I will hook up my gauges from work to verify the calibration this evening. So tonight I will be using an industrial alalog Ashcroft 30" to 15PSI guage as well as a Fluke PV-350 coupled to a new Fluke meter.
