i was told by Giles @ Holyroller Dyno, who is tuning my car, that it is not worth going past 8 or 9 psi unless you have the funds to rebuild the motor at any time. so i opted for the 3mm headgasket and settled with 12 psi.
I didnt know people still used those things!

I would think you would get worse performance with 12psi with a 3mm than stock at 8-9. But tech and the tuners are getting better. You could probably run it up to 15-16 psi with a safe tune.

i thought Giles stopped tuning cars and running the buisness as he wanted to spend time with his family...that was like 3 or 4 months ago.... Long as you have a good tuner, efficient manifold, and race gas if you want to push the limits you will be fine! Many owners on here run over 10 psi stock hg.

yeah i believe he did. personally though, id rather be safe than sorry. and not everyone wants to pay $8/gal on race fuel.
and in response to ^. how long is 20+ psi really going to last on stock cr without doing any damage? probably not very long, which is fine though if you have deep pockets and dont mind rebuilding your engine.

My local servo doesn't sell race gas (or race petrol for that matter).
