I ordered a box of fasteners last week from McMaster-Carr. I only needed 6 but the catch is they are only available in boxes of 50. The box arrived and was a partial that they had marked the new quantity (31) on the outside of the box. I called the phone number on the invoice and the nice lady offered to send another box of 50. I told her that I only needed six and a credit of 38 percent (for the 19 missing) would cover the shortage. She then said "how about I just credit the order so it is no cost to you?" Well, the credit came through on my credit card today. Full credit for the order, materials, taxes and shipping.

Because of the inconvenience to me they credited the entire order. This is how customer service should be.

Best customer service I have experienced in years.

I was pretty pleased with Crutchfield service too, I order the speaker adapters from them but it was for a ridgeline their website said it wouldn't fit but I looked on the MFR website and they said it would work.

So i get the adapters and it doesn't fit and i had to custom make my own to make the install happen, so I call them they said sir the adapter you purchased will not fit your vehicle, I just asked to return it because I checked on the MFR website said it would fit, they said that sorry couldn't do anything, I then said well its kind of hard to go by your website when the MFR said that it will fit my vehicle and also that I did not double check on your site to make sure it fits my car.

He went to go speak to a manager and they refunded me the money for the adapter and just told me to throw them away lol

 

I love McMaster-Carr they have everything and are the nicest people to work with. You setup up a account one time and just call and say I need this and they ship it next day automatically. I absolutely love McMaster and use them for work all the time. Their prices are definitely higher on things like hardware than many of my other suppliers, but they are so easy to deal with and because their distribution is so close to me anything I order is always next-day just using UPS ground.

I too had an issue with some black vinyl magnetic sheet that I ordered once. The packing wasn't great when they sent it and the black vinyl was scratched in transit. They sent me an entire new piece, same size even though only a section of it was messed up, free of charge, and it was VERY well packed when it came, lol. Good company, good people on the phone, love em.

Their website is SO EASY to navigate and find what you need too!

AND THE BEST PART is they have 3D CAD models for so many of their products which makes the job of a design engineer so much easier.

 

another +1 for McMaster. Used them numerous times over the years and always had a great experience with very reasonable shipping charges.
