Methanol/water injection
I was doing some research online today about ethanol(alcohol)/water injection and was reading how people use an EMS/fuel/timing computer to tune appropriately for the methanol/water injection. I was curious if I would be able to add a kit without using an EMS to tune it. I read that the fuel is made a little more lean, and that the timing is advanced to accomidate ethanol/water injection. Would it be possible (safe) for me to just remove the Vortech timing box to get a few degrees back in advance, and switch back my FMU to a 10:1 rising rate (it's at 12:1 now)? I would plan on using a rising rate ethanol/water injection kit dependant on boost. Just wondering, for what you could have for the price of a cold air intake (which yields very little gains), you could have this kit which would run much lower intake temps and be the "equivilant" of a higher octane, higher quality fuel.

Yes you sure can. You can use a boost pressure switch. This will allow you to set the switch to activate the water/meth when you hit a preset boost level. For example you can set it to 1psi. So once you get into boost your water/meth would turn on and stay on when in boost, then once you drop back below your preset level (in this case 1psi) the water/meth would turn off.
Just so happens I have one of these switches laying around from when I had my water/meth injection hooked up this way
if you want to buy it send me a pm.
here is the switch I have

Cool, I'll let you know. I was also reading up on how some of the newer kits use a rising rate velocity based on boost. Those are $$$ though, so I will probably use a switch like you stated if/when I decide to get a kit.
How do you like your kit? Pros/Cons? Anything to worry about/be concerned about?
