mounting location for intercooler as well as airpump question
I have two questions and felt like I would ask them in the same thread. Anyway, were is a good place to mount the intercooler and bolt it up? My intercooler has two holes at the top and was wondering were alot of people bolt theres up too?
Also the air pump I have tried reading around and alot of people remove it. Can I just disconnect the hoses or what would I need to do? One of the hoses is slightly in the way of my piping so is there anyway I can remove it without buying anything.?
I am at work right now so sorry if it seems a little bland
thanks a lot

some ppl make brackets to mount the intercooler and some coolers come with a bracket on there already mine is mount with brackets thats bolted to the side of the frame...for the air pump if ur going with a ems u can remove everything but if u need to do a state inspection that would require the factory computer u will need to buy a air pump simulator from izzyengineering
You can remove the air pump unit and all of the hoses associated with the unit. Just leave the pigtails and zip tie them out of the way. If you follow the big hoses from the pump you will see that it runs in to a tube that bolts to the driver's side of the engine bay. I personally left that tube bolted in and plugged up both ends of it using rubber corks from Lowes so that insects don't get inside. I left this tube on there because there is a bracket attached to the tube which holds the upper radiator hose in place. Now on the back end of the tube will be a hose that leads to the air injection valve (people like to call this the EGR, but is is not) I recommend that you remove that and buy the block off plate for it from S2KPUDDYDAD on here. Sometimes the air injection valve can leak causing you to have an exhaust leak. And for the small hose from the air injection valve to the intake you can either plug it up or run your boost gauge line to it. I am not sure if AEM EMS uses the EVAP stuff or not but if it doesn't you should go ahead and remove that stuff too!

If you are talking about the black bar that will get in the way of the intercooler, then yes you can remove it and you should be fine. Should it be there???????.......according to Honda I am sure it's a yes and they would also tell us not to slap a turbo on there either. FYI: I removed mine because PTuning's intercooler wouldn't fit with that bar there.
