Default to much HP?

Hello everyone. Hopefully in a few months from now I will joining the FI group. I have a question though. Is the 400-500hp range to much for you all that are there. I have a stock suspension and a bit widder rubber in the rear. Will this be to much you think? I do plan on hitting 500 right from the start.

HaHa I can't wait but I hear of people still spinning out at the 80-90mph mark with this much power.

IMO yes there is such a thing as too much HP. When you can't plant the power to the ground efficiently anymore, you probably have too much HP for your setup. At that point you either have to redo your setup (tires, etc...) to accomodate the power, or you have to limit your power.

And keep in mind that different cars can be set up differently to different levels to accomodate for high HP, so after messing around with suspension, tires, etc... you will end up reaching a point after which you may be able to increase your HP, but you won't be able to make any changes to the car to properly make use of that power...
