Default Is my BOV not working?

I have a turbosmart BOV.

I remember after I got my tune last year that if I rev my engine from the throttle body I can see the piston to my BOV open and close.

This morning I reved the engine from the throttle body and did not see the piston to by BOV move.

I pulled the vacuum line with the engine running and there is vacuum at the line, reinstalled the line reved again with still no piston movement.

Is my BOV not working?

Thanks

It should certainly be opening/closing... Which Turbosmart is it? Maybe you should take it off and take it apart to make sure the spring is still OK and that the piston isn't seized up inside there. Clean it, oil it up a bit, and reinstall.

Turbosmart Hyper-Gate 45mm. I'll have to try that. Thanks.

Did you try oiling it first or just replaced it?

Did you replace it with an identical (Turbosmart Race-Port 50mm BOV) one or you went with a different brand?

I am thinking of replacing it with a louder one.

Any suggestions on a loud, cool sounding BOV (one that has a v band connection)?

Hah, I was about to say...

Lots of people around these parts use the Tial Q; I have one. I don't know if its "cool sounding" or not, but that's not really on my radar of things I care about. Its a little loud, and does its job well.

I'll have to look into the Tial Q. Do you know if it can be attached to the intake pipe via a V band connection?

Yeah, the turbosmart is really quiet.

It has to be "cool sounding" if you have it, your "coolguy094"!!!!!!!! J/K

Any suggestions on where to purchase the Tial Q?
