My build thread Vortech V2
Also im noticing a lot of vibration that's causing a really annoying resonance inside the car. Sounds like exhaust hitting the frame but it's not. Feels like the blower itself is vibrating severely, I bought this kit used so idk. Maybe its just the nature of the beast?
So after putting a few hundred miles on the car and fixing my vibration noise I'm really enjoying the current set up. Although I was discouraged by the initial dyno numbers I'm really impressed with the car. First time supercharged for me and it was an easy install and great bang for the buck upgrade. I'm currently running a stock exhaust with t/p and really enjoy the oem exhaust note and style. Thanks to those who helped with the couple questions I had, and thanks to Moddiction for his knowledge and great deal on parts. I'll try to get a few pics/vids up soon if anyone's interested
Vibration noise was an intercooler pipe rubbing on the sway bar. But it feels to me like the blower itself still creates a lot of vibration. IDK if that's normal but I've heard excessive vibration will destroy the blower?
Having the blower bolted up to the engine does cause some vibrations. I noticed it when I first installed blower but just seems normal now.
Putting a good amount if weight onto front of engine causes some added vibrations which is normal I believe.

Vibration is normal, im sure its worse without any "isolator bushings" like the comptech and sos kits include.
I would strongly recommend doing a boost leak test to make sure youre not losing pressure anywhere. That much loss seems odd.
I had a leak even under a tighted t-bolt clamp and one from the supercharger itself from a missing o ring!

Anyone ever fab up some kind of isolator for the vortech kit? I'd really like to figure out a way to do that. And I'll check for a boost leak this weekend. I thought 8psi at was a little low with a 3.6 pulley. I think the previous owner said he was making 11 psi at 9k.
Anyone else running a 3.6 pulley? If so what are you seeing for boost?

I would be very happy if i could get close to 14 psi. Why do you say it was supposed to be more? What were you shooting for?
I can't imagine 8 psi @ 8k is correct something must be wrong I guess I need to try and check for boost leaks. A 6.5 psi drop seems a little excessive.
