I see you mean a wastegate bleeds off straight from the exhaust to maintain a certain impeller speed? That makes perfect sense. I thought it was an electronic bov of sorts. damn foiled again.
You are correct on how it controls boost on a turbo . And it is sorta like a blowoff valve in design . But you have not been foiled.

A BOV is a pressure relief valve ( relieves pressure against the thottle plate * works on vacuum *)--you can not use a blowoff valve to control boost only relieve pressure--

A Wastegate is a pressure control valve ( controls pressure to a set PSI * works on boost with different springs *)

Both have different functions.

The wastegate can bleed exhaust gas or charge pipe pressure it doesn't mater because it is regulated by boost. It can be controlled electronically by a boost controller.

Spoiled -- you are still correct and this can be done very easily . It is a great idea , Here is a pic of it done on a G35 with a Vortech charger

the headlight washer idea also came in to my mind since i already removed them from my bumper. When i had them operational, on press of the button it would spray water for around 2 seconds and stop even if the button was kept pressed.

Aus, Is this time duration triggered from the button or from the water pump, 2 seconds wouldn't be enough to cool the IC.

triggered at WOT will waste a full tank in no time , assuming it will empty after 2/3 drag strips.

From memory mine is one when you press the button. No 2 second duration. COuld be wrong though as it's seldom used, and usually by accident.

I just had a thought on this. With the LoveFab turbo set up you don't go WOT often and when you do it's not for long. That is because there is so much power at mid throttle that WOT is suicide.

As for drag racing, if you're carrying water on board you really only want enough for one run. Any more is just extra weight.
