The cost of an awesome turbo set up makes baby Jesus cry.

The stock car is already one of the faster cars on the road today.

Going from 200 to 300 HP takes it from "fast car" to "faster than it needs to be"

One a dollar per HP basis, I think the BRP kit will lead all other FI options. Unfortunately, it is limited to 300-350 RWHP.

If I had it my way, I'd most certainly go turbo but I can't justify spending 10-15 on this car on my income.
I was not in anyway knocking the BRP kit btw, I think it might have came out funnier in my mind than on the screen

The S2K in stock form is rather slow when compaired to the likes of the Z06, Ford GT, Porsche Carrera GT and so on. I know these are top dollor rides, but we are talking about stock speed here. Turbos while costly initialy have the benifit of being able to lay down huge power with little added costes. Example...

GT1 kit $7000ish for 340ish HP

Add $200 for a 3mm headgasket and $50 for a boost controller and now you are in the 450-500hp range.

Price per HP looks alot better now doesn't it.

^ great example!

BTW...you don't need a boost controller. More likely than not you will be using an AEM EMS, and this EMS has an internal boost controller. Therefore, no external boost controller required.

I thought about that but...

Koyo - $350
ARC - $1000

I don't think I can justify $650 more simply because I could save a few pounds. When my S is making ~450rwhp a few pounds will be irrelevant.

No No No! You still have to get the external AEM boost controller solenoid and hook it up to the wastegate and EMS.

I understand what you are saying, but you can't get a GT1 up and running on 7 grand. What about installation, tuning, upgrading clutch diff if you want to keep everything intact.

It's the holy grail of upgrades in my mind...but its just not attainable.

Sorry...I think we are on the same page just using different (or incomplete) terminology. The AEM EMS has an internal boost controller, but you do need a boost control solenoid (AEM, GM, etc.). Irregardless, you use the EMS to control boost.
