My Unicorn Build
I have a question about your canton oil plate. How was it installed?
I removed the stock water oil cooler and got the civic oil filter bolt thing. When I went to put the stuff together, I noticed that the canton supplied bolt that goes through the oil plate was a little too long and did not allow the plate's gasket to seal tight enough for me. I took it back apart and cut the end of the canton bolt (just a little) and made it smooth and pretty, then reinstalled it. Much tighter fit.
Reason for the story is that you may have also gone the same route as me to install the oil plate, but it may not have sealed correctly because the bolt was too long and bottomed out before the gasket was able to seal 100%. It may be the same when installing it to a stock oil cooler bolt as well though, I just don't know that from experience.
I'd look into WHY/HOW this happened (oil plate came loose) before going to town on rebuilding it as to prevent another accident.
Also... I hate to spend someone elses money, but I'd get the block resleeved and new pistons that are stock bore size, again, to prevent things like what's happened where you have to get a custom piston because they don't offer anything over 89mm off the shelf. That way, if you do need to fix a problem later, a bore to the next biggest size and new pistons with a new tune and you should be good to go (unless you need new bearings and such).
Stick with it man.

Well, we know that the sleeve that goes into the block that the relocator bolts too backed out and that is what caused the seal to blow out as it got loose...
I did not check to see if that bolt bottoms out on the block? But i know that now that you have mentioned that I WILL be checking that and most likly just cutting the bolt a little just to be sure..
If I have to do it over again I will bore it less then the max... I have already ordered the customer piston so no changing it now. But we will see what happens..
I am taking every precaution that I can to make sure that there is no oil leak and that the motor gets all the cooling that it needs to make sure nothing gets hot. I already got a koyo radiator coming and I also did customer holes in my bumper to make a air dam straight to the radiator.. and I am looking for a vented hood to get some of the heat from the header out of the engine bay.. I think after all this there should be no reason for the motor to run Hot or loose any oil and burn a piston again..
Cross my fingers...
I just read your thread and the bad luck that you ran into. I had also took that into consideration when I decided to go FI. So far I just have a vibration issue and a semi overheating issue (no damage yet) that I have to resolve. I can feel the pain with all the money that you have dumped into this thing. Now is the time to use the saying for the summer of 2012 YOLO! (You Only Live Once!) as long as you can afford it. Hats off to you for staying in the game. Keep your eye on the light at the end of the tunnel, its all worth it in the end. Good luck!!!

YOLO... LOL. That is what I said when i started this.. and man it is really kicking my butt.. I am going to keep at it, and there is no turning back now for me.. It is going to be a bad S2000 when it is all said and done, this is just stage 1 of what i want to do. Next will be all the suspension and breaks, and shoes..
I don't really have all the money to do it, Just a good thing that I can do a lot of the work myself and my motor builder is working with me..
Thanks for the encouragment.
Its a long road man...I'm 3 years in and I'm just now starting to feel like I'm getting a handle on things. Its tough work and a lot of freaking money but that feeling you get when you finally drive it and everything works the way its supposed to...money can't buy that!

Got a Vented Hood coming, springs, and Last thing I still need to get is a KOYO Radiator.. I will make sure that there is NO heating problem or oil problem in this car ever again...
