Default Need AEM V2 help

ok so on friday i was driving to work when i hit a pothole out of no where. i bottomed out but it was nothing super serious. 10-15 seconds after i bottomed out my rpm's drop and i lose all power. i pushed the car to a parking lot and tried to start it. The car will crank but wont turn on. i trouble shot everything. im getting spark and fuel. i got a ride home and returned with my oem ecu just to see if it would start. and it did. when i was disconnecting the wires off of aem i noticed on the fourth port that there was a small black wire. when i lifted the ecu up the black wire freely fell out of the fourth port. its only big enough to fit on one of the prongs inside the port. im thinking that its a ground or something. before i just start hooking up that little wire to random prongs i want to know if anyone here knows which prong that goes on. im not sure if i could short out the ecu if i put it on the wrong prong. anyones help would be appreciated. thanks.

im thinking D. only because the A, B, and C are being used buy the same three male connectors that plug into the stock ecu. the black wire that im talking about is on its own. on the very last female port on the aem. thanks

There is nothing on the D connector that would affect your starting. That wire probably is connected to the D16 for your boost solenoid.

1. If the stock ecu is able to start the car, then plug the AEM ecu back in, make sure connectors A, B, C is secured and see if it starts.

Sounds like your having a ground issue with the aem. I had the same problem. When I unplug the aem and install the the factory ecu, the car ran. Vice versa, aem installed nothing. The motor only turned over. If you have the aem Manual, there is a wiring diagram in the back. If you can't find it online, or have one, message me your number and I'll text you a copy.

Agreed x2 on the wiring diagram.

If you search for the AEM guide here in this forum, you will see the diagram for your unit listed.

I would NOT however just randomly try to connect that wire into any free pin, if it's not a ground wire, or something is miswired, you could seriously cause damage to your unit, and AEM will not warranty that.

Because you're using a PnP ECU, I'd expect the issue to be persistent regardless of the ECU (AEM/OEM) if it were a grounding related (unless the issue is internal to the AEM unit). As indi00 mentioned, the single wire from the D plug was likely your PWO for your boost solenoid and would not cause the issue that you're experiencing. Have you checked the wiring at the plugs (A, B, C)?
