Default NEED TO BUY! :

I searched and couldn't find anything similair to what happened to me. So here it goes:
Long story short, My Comptech Crank Pulley Adaptor came off while driving! It is the pulley that bolts on to the Modified Crank Pulley. I don't know how it could of came off but it did. I was VERY lucky to find another modified crank pulley with adaptor, so I'll let you know how the original one looks once it's off. I imagine the bolts got broken off in the modified crank pulley, I can't imagine them all coming loose.
It was kind of funny how I found out too; My car felt sluggish, so I punched it, revving through 2nd gear or so and got pulled over for loud exhaust. Luckily, the cop had me pop my hood and I saw my SC belt was loose.

Im going to check the bolts that hold the pulleys together on a frequent basis now, and maybe use locktite or something on them. Any suggestions? Liek I said before, I searched and couldn't find any info on this happening to anyone before.

Oh, and thanks to Courage007 for the technical help, and much thanks to Chris@SOS for getting me a replacement modified comptech crank pulley and adaptor pulley.

the installation instructions strongly suggest you use loc tite on the allen bolts. no reason not to!

why did the cop make you pop your hood?

thats funny tonight my pulley seperated from the rubber portion of the harmonic balancer. same situation, belt poped off, Then put it back on and tighted it up. noticed some kind of vibration noise coming from the engine bay. looked at the pulley and saw that it was separating from the rubber part. Need to find a replacement pulley quick or im stuck drilling and tapping my OEM pulley this weekend (yes i know how to do this, it my career as a millright) If you guys find one let me know ASAP!

Thanks

not uncommon for this to happen... I got my bolts replaced with higher grade ones.. seems to help.

Where did you get the bolts at? Just home depot?
I ask, because the replacement pulley I got didn't come with any hardware.

Thx
