Default Need Help Understanding MAP/Boost

Hey all, i have a 2006 with an SOS kit tuning with flash pro currently. I live in a high elevation at about 5300 above sea level. I have been searching the net for while now trying to find similar cases, most of my searches show that i won't yield what sea level s2000's do. Which i understand.

I'm trying to understand why my map and boost gauge show such different readings. I'm interested to know what other high elevation flash pro users map show when the ignition is on but engine off.

Here is my reading with ignition on and engine off.

Is this right?

Currently I'm on a 13psi pulley. At 8200rpms my datalog shows a boost of 7.5psi, however my AEM Boost gauge shows 11.5psi

I'm fairly certain i have no belt slippage or leaks. I have the boost gauge connected off the main vacuum line from the intake manifold. My map sensor is a SOS 4bar and my current tune is set to the hondata 4bar.

Is this normal for high elevation. Which boost reading should i look at for tuning purposes? I want to up the boost with a smaller pulley, but i want to make sure i know where my current boost level is at before i do so.

Any thoughts?

They should oth read the same regardless of elevation. You will see less boost though st that elevation. The aem gauge is mechanical right? I would bet that one is right. You sure the tune was calibrated correctly for that map sensor? I know you say it was but might not have been.

The AEM is mechanical. Its the AEM fail safe AFR/Boost combo. I've checked the tune in flash pro and it does show map sensor being a hondata 4bar. is there another setting in flash pro that needs to be done, or a calibration that needs to be done? I have had this difference in readings with my stock map sensor and the sos 4bar. Is it possible there is some gunk in the Throttle Body causing the map sensor to not read properly?

How exactly did you fix the pressure difference? Is there a calibration that needed to be set correctly?

If I understand this right the map sensor reads absolute pressure which includes the atmospheric pressure of where you at. The boost gauge does not read atmospheric pressure. After breaking down the conversion of what my current atmospheric pressure is. It's dead on with what my map says when the car is off. By changing the reading of map in flashpro manager to raw psi and then subtracting the current atmospheric temperature my gauge is actually pretty close to what my map shows. Example my map shows a boost of 10psi and my gauge showed about 11. Turns out I was looking at the wrong form of pressure from the flash pro manager. I was looking at the "/psi. not sure what that rate means yet. But when looking at just raw psi the math works out.
