Default NEED A VORTECH WIZARD!

Okay!!! I have my s2000 V2 Vortech Supercharger, in the tuner shop and they dyno tuned it today and said that the tensioner was coming unloose after two dyno runs and was making a max boost of 8psi and 230whp.... WTH!!!!

I purchased a 3.8" pulley and a 49.5" belt and I installed it myself!
told it should make 14psi... They tuned my car with Haltech Platinum Sport 1000 ecu
and 900cc injectors and Hondata Map Sensor!! They just called me and told me the news that it was slipping and making 8psi and the tensioner was coming unloose???

What the heck is going on!! I was shooting for 400whp not 230whp!!!
Whats going on??????

I called vortech and they said the tensioner cant come loose unless its striped which is highly unlikely! The people are tuning it are highly professional and sound like they are confused!

did you lock the tensioner? there's a lock bolt that you can only access from the bottom after setting the right tension with the screw lock above.

Yeah I'm confused. If its actually producing 8psi... it would be 300whp at the minimum...

230whp would be like 1-2psi

I think K-Lo pegged it.
It certainly sounds like we need to review how the lock mechanism on the Vortech works.

It could easily have started out at 14psi and slipped to zip after two pulls if it is not locked correctly.

Did you adjust the screw on the front after loosening the pulley lock nut on the arbor? You must access it from underneath the engine.

Failure to set the lock nut after adjusting the screw or failure to loosen the lock nut before cranking on the adjusting screw can lead to bent and broken parts and no tension.

The pulley on the adjustable arbor in the middle of this picture must be loosened and tightened as the first and last steps in adjusting the belt.
