Why bother? You've still got to weld around the piece.....then people will be bitching about why they didn't just cast a new set of runners, cause they don't like that weld...

Who is whining?? Its clearly a design flaw of which a 1500 dollar manifold should NOT have, the point being made is the quality isnt there, as a smart consumer you also.should care, if you have r and d AND quality go ahead and ask a premium price, people will pay it, if not adjust accordingly.

I think its absolutely ludacris when people ignore the finish of a product just because of the company that makes it.

It can go up to 74mm, It is a billet piece we weld on so we can make it fit OEM to aftermarket. Just send in your TB and we will make it match. We have had a few request to attach OEM DBW units which we can do.

You are hilarious. You come in this thread trashing their welding, which in fact are perfect welds. You claim they should hire a new welder?..Well why dont you post some pics of your tig welding skills up on the boards and apply for a welding position. Now you claim they have a design flaw?...Ok so bring your resume and engineering degree and apply for their R&D department....

All of this fantastic investigation work yet you still can't figure out who in this thread sounds like a baby

Pat yourself on the back my friend. You just won the genius award!

Im pretty sure that Urge is more concerned with producing a product that focuses on actual performance gains and function over bling. They could probably make a manifold that has completely new runners and looks all fancy, but then the price would probably increase to $2500+ and potential sales would probably decrease significantly. Most, if not all of their products seem like they are geared more towards track cars. I see more of the track dedicated crowd being drawn to this product than someone who is worried about how something looks. Everyone has an opinion and thats fine. Lets just be happy that shops are still taking the time to produce products for our cars .

I think the welds on the cast look decent. The welds on the sheetmetal to me look a little cold.

Also on the aft, outboard corner there looks to be a pinhole on the corner weld. Its probably not an actual hole, but it can lead to issues down the road.

And buildup on manifolds is sometimes just needed. John Marcella is quite good with aluminum and does this from time to time.
