No really, when is this kit going to be available?

There are many s2000 owners that track their vehicle that are completely turned off of turbo kits because of the heat issue. If this has eliminated it the kit could be very popular provided it was put together with quality parts and reasonably priced.

Proper heat management.

Take a look at their engine bays and look at how much heat shielding is around the turbo. You can't even see the damn things.

Also, the designers paid a lot of attention to the airflow into and around the engine. The big hood vent on the Evo 8/9 is there for a reason. The hood vents and middle scoop on the X are there for a reason.

Not to mention, the Evos an oil cooler AND air ducting in the bumper to optimize airflow to the cooler.

We do not run an oil cooler on our car, its in the works but haven't had the need yet.

I am 100% confident that with a v-mount setup and properly coated exhaust components, You will not have any heat problems on the track.

Are you reading the same graph? It does not hit 300 until ~4400RPM. Its around 200-210 at 3750RPM...

Impressive, nonetheless!

John

Agreed. But it seems most turbo kit owners make better power numbers. A v-mount kit would give s2k owners a choice between turbo/SCer. I vote AFI + Mase produce a kit together.

*A turbo kit (regular FMIC) can be done on a track car with a lot of supporting mods. But you're in a high $$$ budget at that point.

The cons of V-mount kit..

-Must lose AC
-Must trim and remove hood latch/support (hood pins required)
-Additional cost for custom radiator with slim fans/shroud
-Additional cost for custom swirl pot/AN coolant lines/overflow res.

If everyone can get by that, a production kit is possible. We know what we have works and works well.

If you could massage the kit to this it would be very marketable. I know I would be interested.

Any possibility of switching the intercooler to horizontal like someone else previously mentioned? From the pictures it looks like there is room on the sides. That may free up some additional room for the hood latch/clearance.
