ARP headstuds work fine. The reason people have had problems is they are over torquing them. They need to be torqued to no more than 80 ft-lbs using the Moly lube supplied by ARP.

Back on topic, 2QYK4U, nice setup. I really like the way your installer added an AN fitting to the water line on the front of the engine. I wish I had done that. Nice attention to detail.
The HPC coating helps reduce underhood temperatures, but you still need a heat shield. It doesn't take much heat to melt that plastic.
Thanks Fred.

I ran ARP head studs with an InlinePRO 3mm gasket boosting up to 16psi for thousands of miles without a single problem.

I will also be using them with my new InlinePRO built motor and head.

The key is proper torque and moly lube.

There have been problems with Cometic gaskets, but take the time to call InlinePRO and talk to them about how many cars they know of running their 3mm gasket with ARP studs.

2QYK4U -- nice work man.

Can't wait to see the dyno. What did you decide to use for exhaust?

Only a month and some change before I do mine... I CANNOT WAIT!
Have you decided whether you want any of the turbo parts I am selling?

Thanks bro!

The installer said that removing the front water line was a PITA! I also had them replace the turbo oil/water lines that came with the inlinePRO kit, which were rubber, with steel-braided lines. I think it looks pretty darn good!

Concerning the heatshield, I am bringing the car back to them Monday evening so that they can make a heatshield which will protect the battery and fuse box. They will also resolve the two other issues (BOV and boost control).

Thanks bro! I'll be hitting the dyno in the next couple of weeks. The wife and I are going to Vegas next weekend, so the soonest would be the following weekend. Just driving it around "normal", I can tell the tune is pretty off.

I'm glad fperra and Geist chimed in with the ARP statements. I think my motor is already back in my car so the ARP's are in if so. I'm sure my installer did it correctly though, he follows every direction in terms of lubing, torque specs, etc.

Hopefully things will work out.

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread Justin.

Here are some pix of the new heatshield which protects the battery and fuse box:
