Which leads me to a slightly off topic question. These HKS, Greddy etc turbos that are based on Garrett turbos seem to cost way more than the Garrett equivalent. Are they actually better, or just rebadged?

Aus, typically, at least in the case of HKS, their GT series turbos are all built by Garrett... the big difference is the trim, etc. which tend to be specific to the outsourcer... So you can't get the EXACT turbo you'd buy from HKS from Garrett, but you can get damn close... HKS's GT32 R series are retailing in at around 3k...

This kit was the tits & it has been out for ages, the one I purchased was a right deal "BUT" it was well fcuked!! I had to have everything stripped down and rebuilt with lots of parts replaced (Adrian wasn't aware of this) costing me alot of dosh, turbo rebuild, new injectors, reworked piping, new exhaust pipes etc.... But I'm not complaining as I would deffo do it all again even if I did get stiffed by the importer who put a value of
